Elderly woman collapses at beach
An elderly woman who collapsed at Sedgewell Cove, in the South Hams, was treated by RNLI lifeguards before paramedics arrived. Lifeguards were alerted at lunchtime yesterday and found the woman unconscious. They provided casualty care and called an ambulance. Paramedics treated the woman before she was well enough to be transported in the lifeguard truck across the beach to an ambulance. RNLI lifeguard supervisor Paul Gunning said: "The lifeguards responded really quickly when a member of the public raised the alarm and they were able to provide casualty care almost instantly."
