Elite win for Iron woman Mesha
ST IVES' Great Britain athlete Mesha Wardman has won the open Elite Legacy Iron Woman series for surf life saving.
The final leg was held at Portreath Beach in testing conditions, the culmination of a fantastic week for Mesha at the British Nationals, also at Portreath, where Mesha came away with three gold medals, seven silver and three bronze.

Nippers from St Ives, Gyllyngvase (Falmouth) and Woolacombe celebrate their results at the British Life Saving Sport Nipper Championships. The St Ives Nipper team won the event, which saw more than 500 Nippers from all over the country compete over two days at Portreath Beach at the weekend. Full report and results, see page 82.

Last month Mesha, 18, was one of five members of Portreath SLSC selected to represent Great Britain in the European Youth Championships in Sweden.
And next week Mesha will fly out to Japan to compete for Great Britain's Surf Life Saving team in the Sanyo World Cup, followed by the World Championships in Australia in November.
