Energy Club celebrates first anniversary
A consumer club which delivers more competitively priced heating oil to members in Cornwall has celebrated its first birthday.
The Community Energy Club aims to bring together the collective buying power of users of heating, allowing members to access competitively priced oil without having to ring around suppliers.
It now boasts 1,300 members across the county and has ordered more than 750,000 litres of oil over the last year.
Run by local charity Community Energy Plus, the club has helped members make combined savings of £20,000 so far.

Project deliver team manager Nicola McCheyne said: "It's fantastic to see the club reach 1,000 members as the more people who join, the more power we have to negotiate better prices for the oil.
"This is especially important over the winter months as oil prices are already on the rise. Most people will ring around to get the best price for their oil, but we recognise that some people, especially vulnerable householders, are unable to do this which is where the Community Energy Club comes in."
