ROSEMARY Penn's good eye for a prospect was ratified when her three-year-old filly Deauville was called forward to stand hunter broodmare and youngstock champion.
"I'm absolutely thrilled," said Rosemary, who lives at Mount, near Bodmin. "This was her first ever Royal Cornwall and it's a memorable debut."
Jayne Carne's fairytale partnership continued with her miniature stallion Hawk who clinched the in-hand coloured championship and increased his tremendous tally by standing reserve miniature champion.
This eight year-old skewbald was originally spotted by his St Columb-based owner at Hallworthy Market where he was put up for sale by his breeder Rachel Tallam of Altarnun.

Jayne's partner Andrew Clemens who jointly owns the charismatic stallion said: "Rachel called him Hawk because he was as wild as a hawk. But Jayne took a shine to him and bought him for a small amount. You couldn't get near him and he had to be stabled for the first few months until he had full confidence in people."
Following five months of patience and careful handling Jayne gave Hawk his first outing and the rest is history with the stallion going on to pass his grading with the BSPA (British Skewbald and Piebald Association).
Andrew said: "He's such a character that he's gaining a bit of a fan club. Jayne took a chance on him and has been totally dedicated to producing him. I'm so pleased he's rewarding her with this success."
Ronnie Jones from Summercourt, landed another Royal Cornwall title with her Harlequin leopard spot stallion Broomells Sun Up, a winner at last year's Horse of the Year Show.

He repeated this on only his second time out the following year, again at Royal Cornwall and since that time he has secured the spotted horse championship at Royal Cornwall on numerous occasions
Ronnie, who has racked up an exceptional record over many years with her stunning spotted stallion, said: " Tigger (Broomells Sun Up) is my horse of a lifetime."
