Miller and Son, Cornwall's longest surviving family estate agent, has reopened a Truro office for 2013. It is almost 80 years since the first Miller office was opened in the city.

The housing market may be facing tough times, but Miller and Son say this additional branch is "essential" due to rising demand and a boom in house sales.

The new office is in Charles Street. It is manned by six members of staff, pictured, led by manager Nick Parrett and including partner Jeremy Miller and area manager Ben Salter.

Miller and Son now has 12 offices in Cornwall and Devon.

"We pride ourselves on having the reputation for being a tried and trusted company," says Jeremy Miller.

"I know I speak for all my family when I say that we are delighted to have 'come home' to Truro with the opening of our new residential, lettings and commercial office."

Jeremy is the third generation of Millers to work in the family industry.

His grandfather Reginald Miller founded his business, RG Miller and Co, in Truro in 1935.
