European-wide alert issued for convicted killer
A European-wide alert has been issued for a convicted murderer not seen since he breached the terms of his release licence earlier this year.
Police in the Devon and Cornwall area are hunting Michael Balmer and are warning members of the public not to approach him.
The 61-year-old is known to have links to Cornwall and southern Wales and police believe that he may have travelled to southern Ireland.
He is wanted in connection with a standard prison recall and was initially sought in April after he breached the conditions of his prison licence which has now been revoked.

A police spokesman said a European arrest warrant has now been issued for his arrest.
"Devon and Cornwall Police are proactively following a number of lines of enquiry to ascertain his current location," said the spokesman.
Balmer is described as 6ft tall, slim with blue eyes, a ruddy complexion, short grey hair and a gruff voice.
Police say they intend to arrest him on sight as soon as he has been located.
Officers are appealing for anyone who has information regarding Balmer's current whereabouts to contact them directly or otherwise call Crimestoppers.
