"You know that it is going to be a very aggressive game, especially at their place, and we know we need to perform from minute one to eighty to get the outcome we want.

"The fans are very close to the pitch and that creates a great atmosphere for the home side.

"The Pirates like to kick deep and force you to come away from your own line with them putting you under pressure. We have to be sensible and make sure we play in the right areas of the field."

The Pirates have made changes to their line-up, despite their British and Irish Cup success over Dundee High last weekend.

Prop Alan Paver and hooker Rob Elloway are back, while Gary Johnson will partner Darren Barry in the second-row.

Fly-half Kieran Hallett, wing Matt Evans and the centre pairing of Junior Fatialofa and Tom Riley also return while fit-again club captain Gavin Cattle is named on the bench.

Cornish Pirates: Nowell; Pointer, Riley, Fatialofa, Evans; Hallett, Kessell; Andrew, Elloway, Paver; Barry, Johnson; Maidment, Burgess, McGlone (capt). Replacements: Storer, Yeandle, Prescott, Lyons, Cattle, Penberthy, Davies.
