Fair to prelude 'magical' procession
A Christmas fair bursting with festive cheer has been described as the "perfect way" to build up to Candlelit Dartmouth's magical procession.
The fair is the second to be organised by Dartmouth Academy and will be held in the town's Old Market Square from 10am on Saturday.
Suzi Wooldridge, the event organiser for the academy, said: "We are really looking forward to it and are delighted to be part of such an event.
"We have the perfect stall-holders and a really great programme of performances to create a wonderful festive atmosphere.

"And of course the procession gathers in the square at 5.30pm – just after we finish the fair, which is always very exciting."
The event is being held to raise funds for its friends group and Candlelit Dartmouth, while many stallholders have chosen to support a number of other causes.
Charity Ashraya Nepal, which supports education in Kathmandu, will hold a stall selling handmade items from the Asian country to raise funds to improve the quality of life for poverty-hit orphans.
Dartmouth Youth Club members are also hoping to boost proceeds for their trip to London by gaining sponsorship for pedalling the distance to the capital on static exercise bikes.
Academy students, staff and young farmers members will also hold their own stalls and others will raise money for breast cancer and meningitis research charities.
