Falmouth Town managers axed after poor start to season
Falmouth Town have parted company with joint managers Robbie Stephens and Gary Pascoe after a disastrous start to the season which has seen the troubled Bickland Park club take just three points from their opening ten Carlsberg SWPL premier division games.
It is understood the club’s directors met on Saturday night after Falmouth went down 4-0 at fellow strugglers Cullompton Rovers and the decision was taken to dispense with the pair’s services.
Pascoe said tonight that he received a telephone call late on Sunday evening informing him of the decision, but had subsequently received another call asking whether he was prepared to stay on as head coach.
“I am still waiting to hear further,” he said.

“I do not really know what they expected me to do as I have been there only four weeks and because of all our midweek games I have not been able to hold a training session.
“When I joined I had the impression there were more players there than they had. It has been difficult. We have not got a big squad of players and several have been carrying injuries or unavailable.
“I feel sorry for the players. We have made some progress but you have got to have some stability.”
Town are next in action at St Blazey on Wednesday night.
