Falmouth characters hit the streets for the town's first Christmas walking carnival
A SEASONAL celebration with a difference took place in Falmouth at the weekend as people donned fancy dress and took to the streets for the first Christmas walking carnival.
Christmas favourites like fairies, reindeers and Santas joined the not so Christmas-themed Disney characters and Samba band to parade the streets of Falmouth on Saturday.

Organisers from local businesses wanted to try something a little different from the usual seasonal festivities and invited people to dress up and join their parade along the old High Street to Events Square.
Town centre manager Richard Gates said: "Throughout the year we have so many events going on, we thought let's try something a bit different this year. There was good weather on Saturday and it went very, very smoothly and hopefully we can build on it towards future years and develop it to become a big part of Christmas."
