Falmouth searches for that extra business edge
A NEW initiative in Falmouth aims to improve the fortunes of existing businesses while showcasing the town to others.
The idea of Falmouth for Business, created by the Falmouth Town Team – Business Improvement District (BID) and the town management, is to celebrate its diversity, while attracting more ideas and business start-ups.

Richard Wilcox, BID manager, said: "We get numerous enquiries from potential investors, which is terrific, but highlights the need to provide more substantive economic data and other relevant information of Falmouth.
"Such a professional can-do approach may just ensure that a business chooses to invest in Falmouth over another area.
"I want Falmouth to do all it can to seek competitive advantage as well as promoting itself to a new business audience."
Town manager Richard Gates said: "We work with numerous organisations to keep our vacant unit rate as low as possible – it currently stands at 5.8 per cent making it the lowest in the South West."
