Farewell: 300 mourners pay tribute to stalwart
MORE than 300 people packed into St Michael's Church in Newquay yesterday to pay their final respects to community stalwart Reg Warman, pictured.
The former policeman, who worked as a CCTV operator in the town for 11 years, lost his fight against cancer on Friday, February 10, at the age of 70.
Mr Warman was also a key player in the Newquay In Bloom partnership and with the Friends of Trenance Cottages.
He was known locally as Mr CCTV after he was singled out as one of the best camera operators in the UK.
The service was led by the Rev Chris McQuillen-Wright.
He said: "Mr CCTV liked to be in the background with his quiet perspective.
"But his sense of humour meant everyone who knew him was kept on their toes.
"The church was filled with family and friends and he will never be forgotten."
