A farmer described by his family as a "larger than life character" has been killed after a collision with a motorbike near his farm.

Police were called to the unclassified road between United Downs and Frogpool, in the hamlet of Cusgarne near St Day, at about 11.30am on Saturday, October 27.

They found that local farmer, Kelvin Bailey, had been in a collision with a Honda motorbike as he was on the road crossing his cattle between fields.

The 67-year-old, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was well known in the area where he and his older brother were farmers.
