SOME WOULD take a dog's life as meaning nothing but hard work, but for Jack the Dalmatian, from St Just, it's not been so bad after all.

When he's not been going for walks, chasing sticks or scratching himself over the past few weeks, the 12-week-old pup has been living the celebrity lifestyle some aspiring models can only dream of.

Fresh from strutting his stuff at the London Men's Fashion Week, the pup, along with his four brothers and sisters, was photographed for the latest edition of Vogue earlier this month.

He was busy promoting up-and-coming designer Joseph Turvey's 2013 collection, which was inspired by Dodie Smith's 101 Dalmatians character Cruella De Vil.

Having now taken early retirement, Jack is safe and sound with his foster owner Jill Dodds and aunty Faith in west Cornwall, but he is looking for a permanent new home.

"We were thrilled to find out Faith's sister's puppies were going to be famous," said Jill.

"It happened at a time when we had hoped Faith would be expecting puppies herself but, unfortunately, she had a phantom pregnancy, so we offered to foster Jack to help Faith through her recovery.

"Jack is a very bright, clever, cheeky, affectionate puppy. He is a 'lemon spot' Dalmatian and, until the right forever family can be found, he is living with us, so he is used to other dogs and a cat.

"It would be lovely if his new family lived locally and they could meet up for walks."

Jack, whose full name is Wilsilva Jack O'Lantern, is one of a litter of five puppies bred by Ruth Wilson, in Liskeard.

It is hoped he will find a permanent home but still meet up with his family for reunions occasionally.
