Fears for four-year-old pricked by syringe
A four-year-old girl was taken to hospital after being pricked by a syringe which had been discarded by a drug user. The girl, from Barnstaple in North Devon, was playing with an older boy in Oakleigh Road near the Salvation Army centre on Wednesday when the incident took place. A police spokesman said the boy found the syringe in a Salvation Army clothing bin and accidentally pricked the girl in the face with it. The girl was taken to hospital where she had a blood test.
