Ferry resumes normal service
FLUSHING ferry was back up and running this week after six weeks of a reduced service.
Residents had raised concerns about the lack of a ferry between the village and Falmouth, saying it was impacting on their lives.
The West Briton was unable to contact the ferry operator, but its website said the ferry was undergoing repairs and maintenance and it hoped "to resume normal service in the near future".
In the interim, St Mawes Ferry was running a reduced service, with four ferries each way per day.

Michelle Thompson, from Flushing, said: "Residents are having difficulty collecting pensions, getting to and from work and it is also affecting local residents who rely on the service every day.
"I have two children who often rely on the service for shopping and getting out the village for an hour can sometimes be my salvation.
"We cannot continue without the ferry and find it hard to find a reason why it has been out of action for so long; we can not continue without a reliable and regular service."
It returned to normal on Tuesday.
