Film-makers who can make the scream queens scream
A GROUP of low-budget filmmakers, inspired after working as extras on Hollywood feature World War Z when it was shot in Falmouth, had their work shown at a film festival.
Geoffrey Robe, Stephen Oxborrow and Tony Railton's ten-minute short narrowly missed out being named the best at the Misty Moon Hallowe'en Festival.

Their small-budget film The Reckoner came second out of 54 shortlisted entries from across the world, judged by stars of horror films including Friday The 13th and Hallowe'en.
Mr Robe said: "We came second by two votes. The judges said amazing things and we can now say we made three Hollywood scream queens scream.

"The film seems very popular and some great opportunities have arisen from it. We have decided our next film will be a feature-length one."
The three men, a night manager at Falmouth Hotel, a naval officer at RNAS Culdrose and a retired naval officer, met when they were extras in Brad Pitt's movie being shot in the town earlier this year.
"We all had so much fun that it inspired us to start making our own stuff and we got together over one weekend, headed to some woods in Penryn and just came up with the idea and shot a ten-minute short horror film," said Mr Robe.
This was entered in The 2 Days Later Film Festival and selected for a screening.
Fictional
Spurred by their success, they then made a tongue-in-cheek short about a fictional Cornish barber trying to beat the recession by opening a topless barber shop.
The Reckoner entered into the Misty Moon festival was a remake of their first film, with a slightly bigger budget.
Other extras from World War Z took part, as well as some who answered a Facebook appeal.
"If we ever win an award, the first person I'm going to thank is Brad Pitt," joked Mr Robe.
