Firefighters called to blaze at St Blazey
Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service were alerted to a fire at Rose Hill, St Blazey, at around 3pm Sunday afternoon.
Initially, one fire appliance from St Austell and one fire appliance from Fowey were mobilised to the property fire. Upon receipt of further calls indicating a developing fire in an upstairs bedroom, possibly spreading to the roof, a further fire appliance from St Austell was mobilised.

On arrival, fire crews reported that the fire was in a bedroom on the first floor of a two-storey semi-detached house, measuring five metres by five metres. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hosereels to extinguish the fire by 16:25hrs. A thermal imaging camera was in use checking for hotspots and fire spread.
One person has suffered smoke inhalation and they are in care of ambulance personnel. The British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service is en route to offer support to the residents.

Fire service update 16:45hrs
One fire crew from St Austell are still on scene monitoring with a thermal imaging camera to ensure that the fire has been fully extinguished. A fire investigation team is en-route to determine the cause of the fire.
