Police were in attendance and the cause of the fire is suspected to be arson.
The second call, just after 8am, was to a report of smoke thought to be billowing from a property on Calshot Close, St Columb Minor.
On arrival, the source of the fire had already been identified by the occupant of the premise - a wooden chopping board had been left on the stove.
The fire was out on the crews arrival, who inspected the scene before they left.
