Firefighters tackle accidental skip blaze
A skip blaze tackled by firefighters from Cornwall at the weekend is thought to have been an accident. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the fire at Gays Hill, Helston, at 5.45pm on Saturday. Fire crews from Helston and Mullion were sent to the scene and found a large skip filled with rubbish which was well alight. "Firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus used two jets to extinguish the fire," a spokesman for the fire service said. "A digger was also used to turn over the rubbish and a hose reel to damp down."
