Fireworks are on the beach
PORTREATH'S annual fireworks display takes place on the beach on Sunday at 7.30pm.
As in recent years, a free park and ride service will be in operation from Treasure Park starting at 5.30pm with the last return from Portreath at 8.30pm.
Following discussions with the police, the event organisers have come up with a few changes this year.
Firstly, at the end of the display, people using the park and ride are asked to make their way along Beach Road, towards the centre of the village, to catch the bus back to Treasure Park.

Secondly, at the end of the display, cars parked in the beach car park will have to turn right and drive up Tregea Hill.
There will be no turning left.
And thirdly, cars parked facing downhill on Tregea Hill for the display may have problems turning and leaving the village as all traffic is being diverted up the hill.
Event co-ordinator Di Helyer said: "As always we would ask spectators to make realistic donations.
"This is so that we can raise enough money to pay for next year's display."
