Fistral's fab finale to crown Tour champion
THE Animal Newquay Open is set to crown the UK Pro Surf Tour champions at Fistral this weekend. The event will be the final stop on the UK Pro Surf Tour 2009.
The UK's top surfers have travelled throughout the country this year to events on the UK Pro Surf Tour and it looks set to be a tense title decider at Fistral.

Just a few points stand between current tour leaders, Bude's Reubyn Ash, Animal rider Alan Stokes, 2002 Tour champion Mark Harris and Reubin Pearce, 2008 Tour winner.
Comeback
The one star event, supported by Animal, will consist of Men's Open, Women's Open, U16 Boys division and Pro Junior with a prize purse of more than £3,000.
Animal team rider Gwen Spurlock is leading the women's event after missing last season with a serious head injury and will be hoping to continue her good form and incredible comeback.

"This year we have seen without doubt, one of the most exciting series of events and it is fitting that it will all be decided at the tour finale."

The weekend will also see the 2009 Surf Awards being held at the new Fistral Blu Bar on Sunday, to celebrate this year's achievements in surfing and to officially crown the 2009 tour champion. Tickets for the Surf Awards are available now through the UKPST office.
● The British and International Kneeboard Surfing championships will be taking place this weekend at Godrevy, St Ives Bay.
This year the championships will be incorporating an international event with surfers travelling from Spain and South Africa to compete.
The British championship is a yearly event which attracts the top kneeboarders in the country to compete for the national title.
Local surfers to watch out for will be reigning champion Karl Ward and former champion Richard Smith, plus former Pro Junior World champion.
Conditions
The event will have two possible venues to allow the surfers to access the best conditions. The primary venue will be Godrevy, and the back-up venue is Porthmeor, St Ives.
Saturday will see the British Open, which will decide the British champion. Alongside this there will be an AAA event which is for surfers knocked out in the first round of the Open. For more information and entry details visit www.kneelo.org
