Flooded gallery open once more
A PICTURE gallery damaged in November's floods has become one of the last businesses in Newlyn to reopen.
Forty-Five Degrees North bore the brunt of the deluge when the nearby Newlyn Coombe river broke its banks on November 24.

Artwork and floorboards were damaged after water poured in through its only entrance, meaning extensive repairs were required.
Josh Sim, 25, who runs the gallery with partner Kate Dyer, also 25, said it was under water within 15 minutes of their receiving the alarm.

"We got a call from a friend in the village who said the river level was getting high and the shop might flood," he said.
"I was in St Ives, so I said I'll drive over. Ten minutes after I left he phoned to say, 'The water is approaching your door', and five minutes after that the shop had flooded.
"If we had sandbags it wouldn't have done anything because it was a raging torrent. If it was more of a minor flood for us then they might have done something."
The gallery was one of a number of businesses to be badly damaged; the premises of Auntie May's Pasty Company next door are still shut.
Mr Sim said the incident had emphasised the importance of having insurance.
"Kate said to me this morning that after all the stress and worry of trying to get the insurance payout, we know it's done and it's looking much nicer, " he said. "It reinforces that it's worth doing everything by the book."
The gallery stocks an assortment of work by local artists, including Kate's late father David, famous for his Cornish scenes. It also offers a framing service and is holding a demonstration on March 30 at Barclays Bank from 9am.
