Co-op grant frees up cash for kit
A FOOTBALL club was able to buy its youth teams new kit thanks to a supermarket's help with purchasing new goals.
Leedstown United FC chairman Nigel Griffiths said it decided to get the new equipment after a new format of nine-a-side football was introduced by the Football Association.
"Without the Co-op, the club would have had to fund it themselves and it would have left us short paying for playing kit," said Mr Griffiths.
The supermarket chain's communities fund paid £350 towards the cost of the new goals and pitches.
