Bude forward David Risdon has been banned for six weeks for butting Camborne's scrum-half Dean Pascoe in their Western Counties West game on December 12, causing a head wound to the Cherry and Whites player.

The ban was imposed by a Cornwall RFU disciplinary hearing after Risdon, a former Launceston player, had pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The referee Andy Robinson, who attended the hearing, repeated that he had witnessed the butt from only two metres away.

Risdon, who was sent off for the offence, claimed it was not an accurate report, but the panel found the case proved and banned him for six weeks.

Camborne won the game, which was played at the Recreation Ground, 43-10.
