A FORMER company secretary from near Camborne described as a "Walter Mitty" character by police has admitted cheating £400,000 from her boss to fund a lavish lifestyle.

Helen Maria Hart, 45, gave guilty pleas to 25 counts involving the use of a company cheque book to buy luxury cars, premiership football tickets and to charter a private jet to Paris and Cardiff.Hart, of Alexandra Road, Illogan, admitted conning PDP Green Consulting Ltd, based at Truro Technology Park, Heron Way, between October, 2005, and May 2011.

The hearing at Truro Crown Court finally brought an end to her seven year spending spree during which she claimed to be a multi-millionaress.Judge John Neligan warned the former secretary, who wore a black suit and 4-inch high heels at today's hearing, that a prison sentence was inevitable. She was released on conditional bail until March 1.
