Future of fatal accident crossing under review
An informal consultation is underway to help determine the fate of a controversial railway crossing in West Cornwall which was closed last year.
The Mexico foot-crossing in Long Rock, near Penzance, was temporarily closed by Cornwall Council following an inquest into the death of Jeanette Nicholls.
The grandmother was struck and killed on the foot-crossing in October 2011.
Campaigners in the village have argued strongly in favour of the crossing re-opening but Network Rail applied for the crossing to be permanently closed following the recommendation of Cornwall's deputy assistant coroner.
