Gale force wind and rain set to return to Cornwall - weather warnings issued
Emergency services are on standby as gale force winds and heavy rain are expected to worsen going into the weekend.
Severe weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office for tonight, and for Friday and Saturday.
Cornwall Council warned late-night shopping events could be disrupted by the storms.
The wild weather throughout the South West could also have a major impact on travel as people head home for Christmas.

The rough weather expected this weekend will come on top the storm which lashed Cornwall yesterday.
A spokesman for the Met Office said conditions were expected to deteriorate during Friday afternoon.
They said: “An area of heavy rain along with strong to gale force winds, is expected to cross the UK from Friday afternoon and through Saturday morning.
“This will bring some locally large accumulations, particularly on hills, and following previous wet weather is likely to lead to some localised flooding across western parts of Scotland, Wales and England.”
