Gibraltar row prompts racist troll attack on Cornwall MEP Julie Girling
CORNWALL’S representative in the European Parliament has been subjected to vicious abuse over the Gibraltar dispute.
Julie Girling was accused of being a Nazi and told she was “too ugly” to visit Spain.
The comments came as a result of Mrs Girling’s suggestion that British holidaymakers should boycott Spanish resorts.
Mrs Girling, who represents the South West of England and Gibraltar as an MEP, vowed to stand up to the online bullying, known as trolling.

One person identifying themselves only as Javier said: "You are a nazi Julie Goering."
Other matters were even more offensive and included "F***ing bitch", "You're too ugly to visit Spain anyway", and a racist suggestion that she should holiday in India.
Mrs Girling said: "It may be that to be trolled goes with the job. However, the Spanish Twitter trolls aren't doing their argument any favours by trolling me.
"Their abuse shows they have no argument as they can only resort to the lowest form of language.
"The people of Gibraltar need our support. They will not be bullied by the Spanish Government or by a minority of the Spanish people. Neither will I."
Previously on Twitter Mrs Girling had advised British holiday-makers to avoid Spain. She said: "There has been enough talking, now there must be action. I urge constituents across the UK to consider taking their summer holidays elsewhere this year."
