DIVING: Sheffield's Monique Gladding, who was controversially selected ahead of Plymouth's Tonia Couch for the ten metres platform individual event at this year's Olympic Games, has retired. The 31-year-old defied the odds to appear in London after she almost lost her life following an accident at an event in Russia in February 2011.
