Glimpse into the real life of Britain 2011
An online portrait of a day in the life of the South West of England is due to be launched today.
Last November, more than 600 films were uploaded to the video-sharing website YouTube by people in the region – among 12,000 clips from across the UK.
All were self-shot on home video cameras, phones and other devices by people who wanted to contribute to the BBC Two Britain in a Day film.
In the end, 14 films from the South West featured in the final programme so many people's work has gone unseen.

With help from film director Ridley Scott's production company, Scott Free, and universities throughout the country, BBC Learning has completed the Britain in a Day Interactive Archive.
A spokesman for the BBC said: "The year-long project has made thousands of hours of footage from across the UK available online. The interactive archive will provide a digital historical document, created by the people it portrays, so future generations can have a glimpse into the real lives of people in 2011."
