Glitzy soirées mark the end of an era for school leavers

SCHOOL uniforms were nowhere in sight as students in Falmouth and Penryn had a night off from exam schedules and let their hair down.

Falmouth's Year 11 prom was held, as usual, at the Penventon Hotel in Redruth, while Penryn College held one closer to home at the Green Lawns Hotel in Falmouth.

At both events the teenagers were dropped off in a variety of posh vehicles, from stretch limousines to top-of-the-range 4x4s.

Almost unrecognisable in their glamorous ball gowns and tailored suits, the youngsters posed for photographs before heading inside to enjoy a meal and a night of dancing.
