Global recognition for Cornwall's broadband project
The initiative bringing Cornwall faster broadband access has won further international recognition.
The pioneering £132 million Superfast Cornwall partnership between the EU, BT and Cornwall Council, received the Changing Lives Broadband Infovision Award at the 12th Annual Broadband World Forum in Amsterdam last night (Wednesday).
It was last year named Project of the Year at the World Communication Awards.
Nigel Ashcroft, Superfast Cornwall programme director for Cornwall Development Company, Cornwall Council's economic development arm, and Ranulf Scarbrough, Superfast Cornwall programme director for BT, attended the event. The judging panel included senior executives from some of the world's leading telecommunications companies.
