SITTING outside the consulting room waiting for the eyedrops to kick in, I mulled over the pitfalls I had been informed of concerning the forthcoming operation to save the sight of my eye and feeling very anxious.

A lady approached the door on my left and noticed it closed and the engaged sign flashing.

Smiling, she came and sat next to me; she had been told to go straight into his consulting room after her X-ray. We engaged in conversation and I told her about the coming operation and my concerns.

I brought the conversation round to my Lord as my long-suffering friends will tell you I tend to do at every given opportunity.

I told her I was a "born again Christian". She stood up with a beautiful smile. "So am I," she replied. "I know it was God who closed that door so you and I could meet."

She went on to say she was a member of her church's healing team and laid hands on me as she prayed for God's healing and blessing in my life.

Immediately my fears faded as I experienced God's blessing. The many different ways He meets with us in times of need never ceases to amaze and delight me; this awesome God whom we are so privileged to call father.

He is here and now, not a memory but a very dear presence in our lives.

Trust Him, for with trust comes a deepening faith and the peace beyond our understanding.

In these troubling times He is our anchor in the midst of the most turbulent storms of life.

Turn to Him now, my dear friends; He is there for all, saint and sinner alike. He has never turned anyone away, and He waits with open arms. When we meet with the risen Lord we will ultimately submit because He loves us too much to leave us alone.

The good news is that the father's affirmation is not confined to Jesus, it is extended to all who follow the way of the beloved Son.

Follow Him now, please. What have you to lose? Nothing! What have you to gain? Everything!

“How refreshing to read this today. People may argue about God, whether He exists, etc. No one can take away experiences of God like this. God is real, is good, and wants to love people personally and really. Trust Him.”

“More like a god invented for the me, me, me, 21st century.
Jesus came to save His people from their SIN, not their aches & pains.”
