Godolphin cup tie cancelled as Appledore unable to raise a team
The Throgmorton Cup tie between Godolphin Atlantic and Appledore, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, has been cancelled, the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League have announced.
The first round tie will not go ahead after Appledore informed Godolphin and the league on Saturday morning that they would be unable to fulfil the fixture.
League secretary Phil Hiscox said: "Under the rules of the cup Appledore are therefore excluded and fined, while Godolphin Atlantic are awarded a walkover to the second round on October 20."
