EIGHT Cornish pubs have made it into Michelin’s ‘good food in informal surroundings’ Eating Out In Pubs guide.

They are: the New Inn on Tresco; the Gurnard’s Head at Zennor; the Springer Spaniel at Treburley; Viners at Summercourt; the Victoria Inn at Perranuthnoe, the Pandora Inn at Restronguet Creek; the Plume of Feathers at Mitchell; and the Halzephron Inn at Gunwalloe.

The 2009 guide contains details of more than 550 pubs across the country.

“As ever, the crucial factor for selection in the guide is the quality of the food served, and though the style of cooking and the menus may vary from one pub to the  next, our independent inspectors ensure that each and every pub listed reaches the required standard,” says Michelin.

The latest guide, which includes indexes, regional maps, lists of ales and “inspectors’ favourites”, is priced £14.99.
