Growing interest in family history sees plea for help
AN INCREASE in people delving into their family history has left a Truro-based society crying out for volunteers.
Since the Cornwall Family History Society moved to its new Lemon Street base more people visit to research their ancestors. And in summer more people travel to the county from abroad to discover their Cornish roots.
The society's chairman Ann Hicks said: "We need more helpers if we are to keep pace with the growing demand and continue to maintain our high level of service."
She wants to hear from anyone with an interest in family history and a few hours of spare time each week, especially younger people, to ensure the society had a solid base of staff for the future.

“This is so true, many forget the volunteers that are involved when it comes to researching the "family tree". Many have done wonderful genealogical acts for others. It amazes me how much information is now readily available on the internet that is mostly free for one to search through, then there was 10-15 years ago. Thank you for posting this.
