Gig club seeks sponsors as it prepares to expand
HAYLE Pilot Gig Club is looking for new sponsors as it prepares to expand in the coming year.
It plans to send seven crews – the highest number to date – to the 2014 World Championships on the Isles of Scilly.
The club has also been in talks with the harbour authorities and ING to try to secure a permanent base.
A new sponsorship pack is being launched and men's captain Sam Gilman said: "We are going through a rebrand, trying to tidy up our image.

"Because the club is expanding we will need more equipment, such as a new training boat. The sponsorship packs will outline what the options are."
One option is for sponsors to have a logo on the club's new sweatshirts, and the club has been working with local graphic and web design company Juicy Visual to update its website.
The gig club is trying to raise £3,000 for a trailer and a set of racing oars for the new boat due to arrive next month, when an official launch ceremony will be held.
