Gwel an Mor bring home a national award for Cornwall
The highest accolade in English tourism has been awarded to Gwel an Mor, the 5 star holiday resort from Portreath. The self-catering resort were bestowed with the title of the UK's best Holiday Village in the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2012.
A team representing the resort traveled to Leicester for the lavish ceremony which was held in the stunning art-deco Athena venue in Leicester on 22nd May. The 34 Gold and Silver winners were selected from a shortlist of 69 finalists, judged by a panel of tourism industry experts including VisitEngland Board Member David Orr and travel broadcaster Alison Rice.

The Gwel an Mor resort was highly praised for the exceptional quality of the resort and facilities provided, high levels of customer care service and very friendly staff. The ongoing improvement and evolution of the resort were also highly commended with special mention of the latest luxury development, The Residence, now providing guests with the opportunity to own their own piece of Gwel an Mor. The judges also commented on the resort's wildlife and conservation programme, Feadon Farm, noting this as a 'highlight' where "passionate and knowledgable staff offer a range of activities enoyed by most visitors".
