Hall goes well for the big show at South Hill
THE wet weather failed to dampen any spirits at a horticultural show in South Hill on Saturday.
A range of vegetables, photos, floral delights and treats for the taste buds made judging difficult in each category.

Despite the weather, organisers said the quality of the entries this year was excellent, especially in the floral categories.
The show was held in South Hill Parish Hall.
Secretary Wendy Trewin said: "We are very pleased. It was brilliant, seeing the weather was appalling. The entries were very good. Considering the weather, the flowers, fruit and vegetable entries were wonderful. Next year is our 50th and we will be hoping for fine weather."
Due to the heavy rain the car boot sale had to be called off.
A time of silence was held at the end of the day in memory of Barbara Ede who was a stalwart of the show and its assistant secretary.
District councillor Beryl Martin presented the trophies to the winners.
