Harvest Feast Auction a success for Carnhell Green committee
The annual Harvest Feast Auction held by Carnhell Green Charity Vintage Rally raised more than £1,000.
Held at Rosewarne Manor, the event sees an assortment of donated items being auctioned to raise funds for Cornwall Air Ambulance, St Julia’s Hospice and Children’s Hospice South West.
The highest bid went to a giant pasty, which was cut up and sold to guests at the auction, bringing in more than £100.
Fred Pascoe, chairman of Carnhell Green Vintage Rally, said: “It was very well supported. People were very generous giving us items. We had all sorts.
“Many thanks to Cyril Eustice and family for the use of the manor. We are grateful to the auctioneers Martyn Rowe and Andrew Body and to all those who attended the auction and made it a great success.”
A variety of items at the auction including vegetables, cakes and household tools brought the final total to £1,684.
The Carnhell Green group plan to have a prize giving ceremony in October, when the money raised from this year’s events will be put together and distributed to the charities.
