Hayle police hunt vandals who have smashed nearly 30 windows

Police in Hayle are investigating caravan windows being smashed causing £1,200 damage at the Haven Holiday Park.

The latest incident took place over the last weekend in February at the Riviere Towans site when four large windows were smashed.

Police are investigating the possibility that the damage could have been caused by a pellet gun.

Hayle Sergeant Simon Dobson said that since last November a total of 27 windows had been smashed in similar incidents.

"It is one of those things that is very quick and easy to do," he said.

"The location itself is very quiet at this time of year but somebody might have heard somebody saying something about it in the town."

    “If caught instead of the usual slap on the wrist make them pay every penny of damnages they caused and name and shame them in the local papers. These idiots are laughing at us because they know the weak willed magistrates are unwilling, why I don't know, to actually hand down some meaningful form of punishment.”
