Heamoor gets its own pharmacy after 10-year wait
A NEW pharmacy will serve the people of Heamoor.
The Day Lewis Pharmacy, in Bolitho Road, near the village post office, has been opened by Penzance mayor Phil Rendle and local Cornwall councillor Mario Fonk.
Councillor Fonk said: “Along with many residents, I am delighted that the village is going to have a pharmacy.
“It has been more than 10 years since I wrote my first letter to try to get one.

“A lot of people especially the elderly find it rather difficult getting into town so having a pharmacy on their doorstep is going to be really helpful to them.”
The opening times are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to noon on a Saturday. Debra Bethell is the pharmacist manager, supported by Marion, Louise and Clare.
The pharmacy offers a free prescription collection service and free delivery as well as medication for minor ailments.
Seasonal flu vaccinations are also available at a small cost for those who do not qualify for a free NHS jab.
