FANCY a day at the seaside on Sunday? Then why not volunteer to take part in a beach clean at Mount Batten?

The Plymouth branch of the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) is organising the clean-up at its adopted beach at Batten Bay.

MCS beach clean-up co-ordinator Amy Bugg said: "We survey the litter we find and send the data to the Marine Conservation Society, who use the information to target marine litter at local, national and international levels.

"Therefore by volunteering at a beach clean, you can really help make a difference to the marine environment."

All materials are provided but sturdy footwear should be worn.

The event starts at 10am, and volunteers will meet at the steps above the beach.
