Helston Town Council takes first steps into Cornish
HELSTON Town Council has made its first step in using the Cornish language.
Many street names in Helston already use Kernewek, to give the language its Cornish name.
However, town councillors agreed in July with a proposal by Councillor Martine Knight to start using more Cornish in their correspondence.
Sharp-eyed members of the public may now have spotted a single extra line on council agendas, which are posted on the noticeboard outside the Guildhall.

Under the heading Helston Town Council, a line has been added which says, Konset Dre Henllys.
Mrs Knight said: "It's a start. You can't expect to accept a new policy and then just go for it and change everything.
"We have started off just by changing the letterhead and making slight changes to letters as they need updating."
