Historic Redruth church gets £54,000 Heritage Lottery Fund award
A rural Anglican church on the outskirts of Redruth has been awarded more than £50,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The £54,000 grant will be used to carry out urgent repairs to St Wenappa Church at Gwennap.

It will pay for the re-slating of the north and south porch roofs and north and south outer slopes.
The church, which is Grade I listed, is mostly 15th century, but has some elements that could date back to the 13th century.

The HLF award comes from the Repair Grants for Places of Worship Scheme.
Richard Bellamy, head of HLF South West, said: "Historic places of worship form prominent and much loved landmarks in our villages, towns and cities across the South West.
"They are unique buildings that bring local communities together for a variety of reasons from worship through to culture and leisure.
"Since 1994, the Heritage Lottery Fund has invested more than £500million into these precious buildings across the UK and with these new grants we aim to ensure even more are secured for future generations to enjoy."
