ST IVES moved back into fourth place in the table after Saturday's emphatic 6-1 home victory over Troon.

Former Conference striker Ian Hodges led the way with a hat-trick for the Saints, with other goals from Martyn Harding, Simon Stevens and the league's leading scorer Jowan May, who took his tally for the season to 19.

Ludgvan's remarkable surge up the table continued after recording their seventh league win in their last eight matches with a 4-1 victory at Penryn, a result which saw the Hurlers leapfrog the home side into eighth spot in the table.

The visitors led 1-0 at the interval courtesy of a goal from Tom Patrick, with Gerens James scoring twice in the second half either side of a goal from Penryn's Chris Mulroy.

Joe Day was also on target for Ludgvan who will look to maintain their recent run of excellent form in Saturday's eagerly anticipated home local derby with St Just.

The Tinners themselves will make the trip to Fairfield this weekend in confident mood after cruising to a comfortable 4-0 home win over Porthleven on Saturday.

Goals from Jon Bird (2), Darren Steadman and a superb individual effort from Andrew Curnow secured another three points for Steve Curnow's side, who have now suffered only one defeat in their last five league matches.

Elsewhere Hayle suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Falmouth Town, for whom former Penzance strikers Bryn Wheeler and Andy Westgarth helped themselves to a brace apiece.

Hayle replied through Nick Webber and an own goal.
