MS patient has sympathy for Jack
A TRURO woman living with multiple sclerosis (MS) has spoken about the challenges she faces following the revelation that TV star Jack Osbourne also has the condition.
Holly Hambly, a part-time administrator at the Merlin MS Centre, was diagnosed three years ago and, now 27, is the same age as Jack, son of Black Sabbath singer Ozzy.
She said: "I can relate to what Jack must be going through. People assume that multiple sclerosis affects older people; this just isn't the case."
After waking with an odd sensation down the left-hand side of her body which didn't go away, she was sent for tests.

"At first they thought I'd had a stroke, as I just couldn't walk properly," she said. "It was a scary time for both me and my family."
Her diagnosis came eight months later. "It was devastating when they finally told me that it was MS, but it also meant that I knew what I was dealing with," she said. "That made it easier to cope."
She has organised fundraising events for the Merlin MS Centre which have raised more than £5,000.
The centre, at Hewas Water, between St Austell and Truro, is the only place of its kind in the county and offers a range of expert care, support and subsidised therapy.
