Horse rescued from water-filled ditch
A horse was rescued by firefighters after it became trapped on its back in a water-filled ditch in Cornwall. The animal got into difficulties at Canworthy Water, Launceston and was unable to free itself. Three fire engines attended the scene from Launceston, Bude and Bodmin. The line rescue vehicle from Bodmin was also sent along on Saturday afternoon. Fire crews used general purpose lines, strops and lengths of hose to free the stricken animal who was then examined by a vet who had been in attendance. Firefighters were contacting the horse's owner.
