Hospital to be officially opened after £350,000 upgrade
A Westcountry hospital will be formally opened tomorrow after a £350,000 refurbishment to enhance outpatient and minor A&E services.
Work began to improve Newquay Hospital in January with development split in to three phases.
Improvements include an extensive refurbishment of the hospital’s minor injury unit, outpatient department and reception.
Elsewhere, building work has been carried out to improve patient facilities and meet infection control, privacy and dignity requirements.

Michael Williams, chairman of Peninsula Community Health (PCH), which runs the hospital, will carry out the official opening.
A spokesman for PCH said the work has enabled the hospital to provide the very best standards of patient care.
Funding was provided for the upgrade by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust.
